Our laboratory is devoted to deep commitment to new coating materials, surface chemistry and physics, and design and construction of novel surface coatings, both fundamental and applied. In particular, our current research interests lie in development of novel inorganic/organic composite materials, marine biofouling at molecular level, biomaterial-cell interactions, and thermal/cold spray construction of structural and functional coatings. Our research destination is to apply the surface coating technology to specific applications.
Our team strives for our destinations through establishing innovative research by interdisciplinary activities that explore the interplay of technology with other fields, from materials surface engineering to maritime industry to biomedical industry to environmental industry to energy industry. We are concerned about coating construction of submicron-sized materials and fundamental phenomena occurred at the surfaces of various coatings. Our accomplishments have come from teamwork planning, research priority setting, intensive research engagement and outreach collaborations.
